Vase with Swarovski Crystals

by Amy on January 8, 2011

What you see to the right was a plain glass vase that you get from a local craft store for $1.99. I used some Glass etching creme
over the entire vase to make it look frosted and was very surprised to see how well it worked. If I left the glass vase clear as is, the crystals would of been very hard to see in a dimly lit room.

The capital “R” was from the script font, Allegro. You can get the font from Dafont or AbstractFonts for free.

How the vase was embellished with Swarovski crystals

All I did was print out the letter “R” the right size on a plain white sheet of paper and put it inside the glass vase. To keep it in place, I recommend a little bit of tape as well. Lie down the vase on a folded towel to ensure it won’t crack. I used around 95 Swarovski silver crystals in 4 different sizes to accommodate for the thicker parts of the letter. Some alternatives are table numbers or a graphic such as a heart. Depending on your event, you can get very creative!

Materials used:

100 Swarovski crystals
Glass vases
Glass etching creme
Sobo glue
crayon for crystal application
